1. Introduction

Starlight Cleaning Services understands that clients may need to provide us with keys to access their property for cleaning services. We take key security and confidentiality very seriously. This policy outlines how we handle, store, and return client keys to ensure their safety and security.

2. Key Handling Procedures

2.1 Collection of Keys

Keys may be provided to us in person, via a secure key box, or through an agreed-upon method. Upon receipt, we will confirm key collection with the client and record relevant details, including the date and any specific instructions.

2.2 Secure Storage

All keys are securely stored when not in use and are never labelled with any identifying client information. Each key is assigned a unique reference number instead of using client names or addresses. Keys are only accessible to authorised Starlight Cleaning Services staff who require them for scheduled cleaning services.

2.3 Key Usage

Keys will only be used to access the property for agreed-upon cleaning services. Cleaners will not make copies of keys or share them with unauthorised persons. If a key is lost, misplaced, or suspected to be stolen, the client will be informed immediately, and appropriate action will be taken.

2.4 Key Return

Clients can request their keys back at any time, and a return receipt will be provided where applicable. If a client no longer requires our services, all keys will be returned securely in person or through a pre-agreed method.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients should inform us of any changes to locks, access codes, or security procedures. Clients are responsible for ensuring that their insurance covers third-party key handling where necessary.

4. Liability

Starlight Cleaning Services takes all reasonable measures to protect client keys; however, we cannot be held liable for any loss or damage arising from circumstances beyond our control. In the unlikely event of a lost key, we will work with the client to resolve the situation, including covering reasonable costs for a replacement key if negligence is proven.

5. Policy Updates

We reserve the right to update this policy as needed. Clients will be notified of any significant changes.
